It's a change of face at the head of the Bouches-du-Rhône police headquarters.
This Wednesday, February 7, Pierre-Édouard Colliex was appointed new police prefect of the department on the proposal of the Minister of the Interior, Gérald Darmanin.
This appointment, kept secret until then, was revealed by
La Provence
and made official at the end of today's council of ministers.
“On my proposal, the President of the Republic appointed Pierre-Édouard Colliex prefect of police for Bouches-du-Rhône
,” Gérald Darmanin said on X (ex-Twitter).
“Its priority mission will be to continue a relentless fight against drug banditry and delinquency, and to ensure the smooth running of the Olympic events in Marseille
,” he added.
Frédérique Camilleri transferred to Essonne
Frédérique Camilleri, at the head of the institution since December 2020, will leave the Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur region for Île-de-France to be appointed prefect of the Essonne department.
The Minister of the Interior took advantage of her announcement to thank her for
“her determined action
”.
Pierre-Édouard Colliex, who is expected to take office soon, was appointed in July 2022 as a member of the operational security and defense mission to the Minister of the Interior, as police advisor.
