District – There is a new advice center for barrier-free construction at the district office in Miesbach.

The offer is aimed at people with disabilities, but also at architects and municipalities.

“Accessibility is a basic requirement for an inclusive society,” emphasized District Administrator Olaf von Löwis when Astrid Achterberg from the Department for Social Affairs of the Miesbach District Office, district architect Christian Boiger, representative for the disabled Gerhard Henrikus and Susanne Moog from the Bavarian Chamber of Architects recently opened the new advice center for barrier-free construction at the Miesbach district office.

Susanne Moog has been a freelance consultant on the subject of accessibility at the Bavarian Chamber of Architects since 2016 and is now also supporting the citizens of the district with all their concerns and questions about barrier-free construction.

Accessibility in renovations and new buildings

The Bavarian Chamber of Architects focuses on accessibility in new building projects and conversion options for existing buildings, according to the district office's announcement.

According to the Miesbach District Office, the offer is aimed at a broad target group - from people with disabilities to architects to builders and municipalities.

“We look forward to a fruitful collaboration with the Bavarian Chamber of Architects to make our region even more accessible for everyone,” said von Löwis at the inauguration of the new advice center.

Advice in Miesbach

There are now 18 Chamber of Architects advice centers across Bavaria.

The consultation on barrier-free construction takes place in the Miesbach District Office in House B at Rosenheimer Straße 3 on the following dates with prior registration: every Tuesday (March 19th, May 21st, July 16th, September 17th and November 19th) .

The consultation is free of charge.
