The country wants to strengthen companies that pay fair wages in the future, says the new minister Mansoori.

The state parliament Greens are missing clear announcements on another topic in economic policy.

Wiesbaden - Economics Minister Kaweh Mansoori (SPD) has announced a reform of the Hesse public procurement law.

“We are strengthening collective bargaining compliance, reducing bureaucracy, creating fair competition out of respect for good work and good companies,” he said on Wednesday in the state parliament in Wiesbaden.

The country must set a good example, explained the minister.

“In the future, we want to strengthen those companies that pay fair wages.”

At the same time, Mansoori announced that the complicated public procurement procedures should be streamlined.

The state wants to simplify the procedures, for example through higher order value limits.

In a procurement procedure, certain sums are referred to as value limits, above which a public tender becomes necessary.

The Green Party's economic policy spokeswoman, Kaya Kinkel, demanded clear statements from the black-red state government about a possible transformation fund for the economy.

“We must actively support investments in climate-neutral business so that Hessian companies remain competitive,” explained Kinkel.

The coalition could neither say whether it wanted to create such a fund, nor when or to what extent.

“In times when companies are loudly calling for reliable prospects, this radiates a fatal insecurity,” she warned.
