Germering - Prominent praise: “Such a children’s carnival guard meeting is something great for Germering,” said the second mayor Manuela Kreuzmair.
President Peter Steinberger of the Upper Bavaria regional association in the Association of German Carnival (BDK) also distributed compliments: “At Fun Unlimited you know that something like this works.”
The BDK took over the pure organization of the groups.
Steinberger explained that all 80 children's carnival groups in the catchment area were contacted and the performance dates were coordinated after the confirmations were received.
In total there were over 20 groups who met in the Orlando hall of the city hall over a good nine hours.
The proceeds from this year's meeting will go to the hospice in Germering.
The Participation Advisory Board contributed to this.
The committee joined the event to increase its visibility.
The advisory board members mainly took part with cake - a campaign in which Unterpfaffenhofen's village women also eagerly took part.
The advisory board members took turns at their own stand throughout the day.
“People kept coming to find out more,” says Spendler, satisfied with the response.
But he is particularly excited about what the Gardens have to offer.
“It’s great to see what the young people are doing.
It creates a good atmosphere.” There’s a lot of variety.
Spendler also praises the organization of FU: “Very good work.” Because nothing could slow down Fun Unlimited (FU) and the performing Gardens.
Not the technology that recorded the music for the respective performances, which occasionally had problems.
The Narhalla Oberschleißheim's delay due to traffic jams was also easily covered up.
A few young dancers from Fun Unlimited bridged the forced break with a spontaneous performance.
“The girls wanted to do it and they did it really well,” praises Stephan Patsch, board member of Fun Unlimited (FU).
Reissues are to follow
There will also be such a guard meeting of children and youth groups for the BDK in 2025.
However, not in Germering, because the association assigns this event, which takes place under its direction, to a different location in Upper Bavaria every year.
“It is of course up to the clubs to set something up themselves.” At Fun Unlimited they are not averse to this.
“This event should have its tradition,” emphasizes Patsch.
But the town hall must be booked for the long term.
However, the board will discuss intensively about a repeat in 2026.
