From the community's perspective, there is only one possible location for the planned new fire station.
Since this is located outside and close to the flood plain of the Glonn, the land use plan must first be changed.
Mittelstetten – The fire station is to be built on municipal property on Plattlplatz.
The local council agreed on this last June.
Since then, on-site meetings have taken place with representatives of the water management office and the district office, as Mayor Franz Ostermeier (WUG) now reported to the committee.
Authorities critical
Both authorities view the location critically.
The water management office pointed out that in the event of flooding, the fire brigade's ability to operate should not be affected.
However, Ostermeier emphasized: “Our planning is completely outside the flood zone.” This only extends to areas north and northwest of the intended location.
The district office reported local planning concerns and suggested an area on Feuerhausstrasse, directly opposite the current fire station, as an alternative.
“But this property doesn’t belong to us and we don’t get it either,” said Ostermeier.
In addition, there are emissions protection reasons against this location due to the nearby residential development.
Recalculate?
Better not!
After all, the district office has signaled that a new building on Plattlplatz can be approved if the land use plan is changed accordingly and the specialist departments agree.
Ostermeier does not want to follow the water management office's proposal to have the Glonn flood area recalculated for the entire town.
It could turn out that the affected area needs to be made even larger.
The local council decided unanimously to initiate the process of changing the land use plan and to commission an office in Bruck to carry out the planning work.
