Abandoned: The construction site of the Old Academy.

Will there be any positive news about the Old Academy soon?
Everything on the project with the abandoned construction site looks like it's at a standstill.
There seems to be a lot going on behind the scenes.
Abandoned construction sites and empty houses: The consequences of the Benko bankruptcies are ugly eyesores for the city center.
Problems for which solutions seem far away.
But this impression is deceptive: apparently the rescue machine is already running at full speed after the collapse of the Signa empire.
And so well that the first results could be expected soon.
This is suggested by a classification given by Mayor Dieter Reiter (SPD) in the city council.
At the Old Academy, for example, it is now a question of “who will buy the thing,” as he said rather casually in the planning committee.
This suggests that there are negotiations with several potential investors.
Reiter even expects that it will become clear “soon” what the solution for the building in the heart of the pedestrian zone looks like.
Words that give hope that a modern ensemble with shops, offices and apartments can still be built there.
What Reiter did not reveal is the background to a possible deal.
Will the insolvent Signa-Prime sell itself or will the Alte Akademie go back to its actual owner – the Free State?
Due to the Sigan bankruptcy, he has the opportunity to reverse the lease agreement concluded until 2079.
In response to Merkur's request yesterday, the Real Estate Free State of Bavaria left it open whether the so-called reversionary paragraph would apply.
The conversations and negotiations that are taking place behind the scenes do not only affect the Old Academy.
According to Reiter, there are also “tons of interested parties” for the other buildings in prime locations, such as the Kaut-Bullinger.
He himself keeps receiving offers, which he then forwards to the insolvency administrators of the various Signa subsidiaries.
“Bringing together supply and demand is my job at the moment,” said the mayor in the committee.
Reiter makes connections and brings together the right contacts.
The insolvency administrators are “very competent”, but of course they have no network in Munich.
