Electricity, security, technology: the old town festival is costing the city of FFB more and more money.

For this reason, the fee schedule will be adjusted and changed.

However, some city councilors doubted whether this would increase revenue.

Fürstenfeldbruck – innkeepers, festival goers, clubs: They all make the Old Town Festival in July one of the biggest festivals in the city for almost three days.

They pay a fee for their stands.

This was last increased before the corona pandemic.

When it comes to income, office manager Roland Klehr reported that the city hall employee Daniel Brando, who is responsible for festivals, was on the main and finance committee.

Expenses, on the other hand, increased by 40 percent.

“You have to do something on the revenue side.”

The aim of the new fee schedule is to eliminate inconsistencies and create more fairness.

The rent for a hut is still 100 euros.

The toilet flat rate of 50 euros remains unchanged for everyone.

Innkeepers who make their toilets available to the public do not have to pay for them.

In addition, a flat rate of 10 euros will be charged for household electricity and – if necessary – 55 euros for high-voltage electricity.

That’s what clubs pay

The basic fee for clubs of 220 euros remains the same - but only for a stand length of up to 20 meters.

Anyone who goes beyond this will in future pay 27 euros per linear meter (for two and a half days).

There is also a flat rate electricity fee: ten euros for household electricity and – if required – 55 euros for high-voltage electricity.

The innkeepers pay that

The stand fee for innkeepers on the main street increases from 21 to 27 euros per linear meter.

In return, the basic fee of 160 euros is waived.

Innkeepers in the side streets pay a flat rate of 110 euros for participation on the stage - i.e. for technology and bands.

If you do not contribute to these costs, 18 euros will be charged per linear meter for two and a half days.

That's what fierants pay

The fees for artisans remain unchanged at 26 euros per linear meter.

In the future, snack bars on the main street will also pay six euros more per linear meter.

In the side streets, 18 euros per linear meter are charged.

Does it make more money?

The proposal certainly caused criticism in the main and finance committee.

Georg Jacobs (CSU) said after a quick calculation that the city was taking in less money.

Jan Halbauer (Greens) did not expect any additional income.

“It's getting more complicated.” The old town festival is an opportunity for the clubs to present themselves, said Philipp Heimerl (SPD).

The last increase had already led to dissatisfaction and not to additional income.

That's what the mayor says

Mayor Christian Götz defended the fees.

In the past, all clubs would have paid the same amount for a stand.

“It will be fairer.

If you have a long area, you pay more, if you have a small one, you pay less.” Another idea from the administration: If clubs limit themselves to 20 meters, there is room for one club member, who then pays a higher stand fee and thus brings in more income.

According to Daniel Brando, there are attractive stands that are of interest but have not yet found a place, said Götz.

“We will see after the next old town festival what additional income we have.” Market representative Markus Droth (FW) spoke of an opportunity to offer more stands.

The main and finance committee approved the new fees with four votes against.

Trade representative Franz Höfelsauer (CSU) asked that the innkeepers be well informed in order to avoid an outcry.
