TURIN - Palazzo Madama in Turin, with its two thousand years of history, claims the role of "a building capable of crossing history and becoming its protagonist, a place generating the Europe of peoples".

This is the meaning of the new exhibition in the Medieval Court, dedicated to the founding values of the peoples of the old continent through fifteen illustrations.

"Palazzo Madama is the Roman gate to the city of Turin, but also one of the most important medieval castles in Europe. It is the place where Italy was made because here was the Senate of the Kingdom and, together, the place where the great documents of European history were made" explains the director Giovanni Carlo Federico Villa.

"We have done a rare operation for Italian museums: for some years we have been commissioning great Italian illustrators, who are superstars on a global level, to tell what Italy does for Europe and the great values of the European people, but also talk about Turin and Piedmont. We have inventoried these illustrations which have become the museum's heritage. Last year some went around the world to 43 countries on five continents. Now we have completed this work" To the Statuto Albertino paper fundamental of the Kingdom until the entry into force of our republican Constitution, is dedicated to the illustration created by Marta Signori.

There are the Ventotene Manifesto of 1941 and the image that recalls the birth of the European Economic Community with the Treaties of Rome of 25 March 1957, two of the most significant documents completed by Italy for the creation of common European history, which have integrated the Europa project.

On display are the illustrations completed in 2022 by Lucio Schiavon, Ale Giorgini, Emiliano Ponzi, Bianca Bagnarelli, Marina Marcolin, Francesco Poroli, Giulia scienzanti, the work dedicated by Andrea Mongia to the European Social Charter.

The idea is to leave the illustrations in the Medieval Court at all times, except when there will be exhibitions, for example in April during the Photography Festival.
