Pope
Francis
said that
“no one is scandalized if I give my blessing to a businessman
who perhaps exploits people, which is a very big sin.
On the other hand, they are scandalized if I give the blessing to a homosexual.
“This is hypocrisy,” he said in an interview he gave to the Italian Catholic weekly “Credere.”
The Pope came out to address the criticism he has received for blessing homosexual couples.

The Pope thus came out to address the criticism he has received from sectors of the Church for the document prepared by the Doctrine of Faith that Francis signed and that authorizes the blessing of homosexual couples.
The document highlights that
brief, non-ritual blessings
are allowed for irregular couples, including homosexual couples, but these blessings
are “to the people and not to the union
. ”
They have nothing to do with liturgical blessings.
The African Church reacted “in totu” against the opening measure:
781 bishops
of Africa declared “non possumus” against the law,
refusing to apply it.
War, another concern
On the other hand, after the general audience on Wednesdays, the Pope once again exorted that “we should not forget the wars, such as in the tormented Ukraine, in Palestine and Israel and many other wars that exist everywhere.”
“Let us pray for peace.
War is always a defeat
, always.
“We need peace.”
Considerations about sadness
The Pope, in the catechesis he preaches at each general audience, once again spoke about vices and virtues.
He warned about sadness, which when it lasts, “becomes a subtle demon, a disease of the soul.”

“Sadness
is the pleasure of non-pleasure
, it is like taking a bitter sweet and sucking that sweet.
“Certain prolonged mournings, in which a person continues to expand the emptiness of someone who is no longer here, are not typical of the departure in the spirit.”
"Francisco highlighted that certain resentful bitterness for which one always has in mind a claim that makes him assume the role of victim, does not produce in us a healthy life, much less a Christian one," he explained.
“
We must be careful with this sadness
and think that Jesus brings us the joy of the Resurrection,” concluded the Argentine Pope.
