A dream for tourists: The camera on the Schwarzenberg not only offers a beautiful view of the Leitzachtal, but is of great importance for guests.

Despite technical problems, the Fischbachau community wants to hold on to the webcam on the Schwarzenberg if possible.
Another location could also be expanded.
Fischbachau
- The image motifs are right, the demand is very high with one million clicks a year - but the quality of the two webcams in Fischbachau leaves a lot to be desired.
Felix Stahl, business manager at the town hall, pointed out this problem at the most recent municipal council meeting.
He also used the status report to obtain the opinion of the committee.
A decision was not required - a clear stance nevertheless emerged: the webcam on the Schwarzenberg should remain if possible.
The second camera at the middle school could be renewed.
A third, additional location at the Elbach elementary school was also discussed.
The committee agreed on the advertising potential for guests.
A dreary look despite the sunny weather
The fact that the webcam on the Schwarzenberg, which actually offers a magnificent view of the Leitzachtal, has been showing the same recording for weeks due to a technical defect is particularly annoying for the community.
After all, the dreary, grey-brown veil of fog that the camera captured shortly before dusk no longer corresponds to the facts since the end of December.
“The webcam has been down for a long time,” Stahl explained.
The weak WiFi on the Schwarzenbergalm is to blame for this.
He therefore suggested putting the working camera on the roof of the Elbach elementary school instead.
“After all, a camera that doesn’t work 200 days a year is of no use to us.” Mayor Stefan Deingruber (CSU) spoke out in favor of looking for ways to continue operating the camera on Schwarzenberg.
Some council members were in favor;
Georg Gruber (FaB), among others, spoke of a “matter of the heart”.
360 degree version possible
The community's second webcam at the middle school is technically outdated.
It could be replaced with a rigid camera for 5,000 euros.
For 12,000 euros there would also be a 360-degree version in which the camera pans back and forth in the selected section.
“It’s a great thing,” said Deingruber.
This would show the mountain scenery and the warm outdoor pool.
Stahl took on board the suggestions and opinions.
A decision has not yet been made, but will probably be made in the coming months.
Because some citizens had already noticed the disruption on Schwarzenberg, as the manager explained.
