Russia launched a “massive” missile attack on kyiv and other Ukrainian cities this Wednesday morning, President Zelensky announced on Telegram.

And the Ukrainian head of state added: “Six regions were targeted by the enemy” reporting one death in Mykolaiv (south) and at least two others in kyiv.

These explosions also reportedly injured dozens of people.

And the toll is likely to rise.

Other people could be under rubble.

Two loud explosions, according to the Kyiv Post, were heard in the capital's city center around 7 a.m. and at least two more 45 minutes later.

One of its reporters heard air defenses fire several projectiles and saw an explosion in the air.

After the attack, electricity was cut in parts of the capital, Mayor Vitali Klitschko said.

A Russian missile damaged power lines.

In Mykolaiv at least 20 residential buildings were affected, according to the city's mayor, Oleksandr Sienkevych.

For his part, Oleh Sinehubov, governor of the Kharkiv region in northeastern Ukraine, indicated that Russian missiles had struck non-residential infrastructure in the city of Kharkiv, the administrative center of the region.

Mykolaiv Mayor Oleksandr Senkevych said:


The number of houses destroyed in the morning attack on Mykolaiv has now increased to 40. As many as 12 people were injured but were treated on the spot.

One person died in the hospital from his injuries.

In total, during the night, Russia, in several waves, launched at least 44 missiles and around twenty drones on Ukrainian territory.

According to the Air Force, 29 missiles and 15 drones were shot down.
