On the eve of the 2024 Olympic and Paralympic Games, success exceeds expectations for the national police operational reserve.
According to our information, the milestone of 26,000 applications has just been crossed since the creation of this body, open in 2022 to civil society.
It is supposed to reach 30,000 personnel, in total, by 2030.
“An objective which will be largely achieved”
, estimates a senior official from the Ministry of the Interior.
This reform carried out by the Director General of the National Police (DGPN), Frédéric Veaux, under the authority of Gérald Darmanin, is one of the most ambitious security projects in recent years at the Ministry of the Interior.
“It already offers unexpected room for maneuver and flexibility in a tense period, marked by numerous retirements in the institution
,” confides a prefect.
