There is no continuous cycle path between Bad Tölz and Geretsried.

In order to close a six-kilometer gap, there was an important meeting.

Bad Tölz-Wolfratshausen

- It is one of the most sensitive gaps in the cycle path network in the district: There is no connection that allows you to travel safely and quickly between the cities of Bad Tölz and Geretsried.

A cycle path along the busy state road 2072 from the Tölz Farchet industrial area to the level of the Dietramszell district of Unterleiten is therefore a long-held wish.

A round of discussions recently took place with 20 to 30 landowners.

Cycle path gap between Farchet and Unterleiten

As Martin Herda, the department head responsible for the southern district in the Weilheim State Building Authority, reported upon request, the mayors Ingo Mehner (Bad Tölz) and Josef Hauser (Dietramszell) also took part in the meeting in the Tölz town hall.

The topic was a possible six-kilometer-long cycle path on the east side of the state road.

“To do this, a crossing aid would have to be built in Farchet in order to get bicycle traffic from the west to the east side of the road.” At Unterleiten, the new connection would connect to the existing cycle path to Geretsried.

Preliminary planning for the Tölz-Geretsried cycle path as a bachelor's thesis

A student from the Technical University of Munich created an initial preliminary plan for the cycle path as part of his bachelor's thesis.

This shows exactly which privately owned areas would be affected.

Herda reports that “a relatively large number,” but not all, of the landowners who were invited came to the meeting.

He describes the response as mixed.

“There was both general agreement and some concerns.” But bottom line, Herda classifies the signals as “mostly positive”.

In any case, there were no “absolute exclusion arguments”, so the department head certainly sees hope “that we can manage the land acquisition”.
