Unthinkable in earlier times, Princess Sofia saved herself at the state banquet with a little trick and narrowly avoided a big faux pas.
Stockholm - In front of 170 invited guests in Stockholm Palace at the gala dinner on the occasion of the state visit of the French presidential couple Emmanuel Macron (46) and his wife Brigitte (70) to the Swedish royal couple King Carl XVI.
Gustaf (77) of Sweden and Queen Silvia (79), Princess Sofia (39) only escaped a serious faux pas by a hint of nothing.

When the wife of Prince Carl Philip (44) entered the reception hall of the Stockholm Palace behind Crown Princess Victoria (46) and Prince Daniel (50) in a dreamy gown by Swedish designer Lars Wallin (58), an audible murmur went through the crowd.
On the one hand, Princess Sofia looked breathtakingly beautiful as she floated into the hall in the cream-colored silk dress at Carl Philips' side with only her wedding tiara on her head, a silver clutch from Louboutinworld in her hand and leather pumps from Charlotte Olympia.
On the other hand, it was a murmur of horror, because quite a few people only recognized the careful finesse of Sofia's gown upon closer inspection: the gala dress was not shoulder-free, but a transparent fabric held everything where it belonged.
