A crowd puller: Thousands of children and adults use the Dachau artificial ice rink on Gröbenrieder Straße.
But how long the ice surface will still be there remains to be seen.

If the city of Dachau doesn't find sponsors or partners to build a new artificial ice rink soon, it will probably no longer exist.
One thing is already certain: Sulzemoos doesn't want to pay.
Sulzemoos
- A quick matter for the Sulzemoos local council was a request from the large district town of Dachau about possible participation in a special purpose association for the construction and operation of an ice skating rink.
She was rejected.
And that's what the request from Dachau's mayor Florian Hartmann is about: According to the current decision, the new Georg Scherer sports hall is to be built at the location where the Dachau artificial ice rink is located on the ASV Dachau site.
The actually planned construction of a new ice surface in the south of the ASV area on the edge of the city forest by the city of Dachau alone is “probably not realistic for the time being” given the budget situation.
The Alliance for Dachau then submitted a request that the city should examine whether, together with other district municipalities, a special-purpose association could be created to build and operate a new ice skating area in order to take into account the desire of many district citizens for affordable winter sports options ?
The matter was rejected by the majority at the most recent meeting in Sulzemoos after a few minutes without discussion.
Only Klaus Schäffler from Einsbach spoke in favor of the request.
