Lioness Gina is happy about her offspring at the Cologne Zoo.
After a bereavement, the remaining young animals are now developing splendidly.
Cologne – In the Cologne Zoo, the new lion family is seen lying close together in a Facebook video.
Just a few days ago (January 26th) the Asian lioness Gina gave birth to several cubs.
It was the first lion offspring at Cologne Zoo in 20 years.
After a temporary bereavement, one of the babies died unexpectedly on January 31st, the other young animals are now making good progress in their development, as the Cologne Zoo reports.

It's a cute sight from the "litter box video" that the Cologne Zoo (district: Köln-Nippes) shares on Facebook (February 5th).
The three cubs lie in a cozy box together with lion mom Gina.
One of the babies is even taking its first steps, a little bumpily.
“The little ones are fine.
“They drink milk regularly and have already grown a lot,” reports the Cologne Zoo.
It also says: “They slowly open their eyes.”
However, it will still be a while before the lion cubs can be seen on site by visitors to the Cologne Zoo.
In order to develop well, the young animals “continue to need a lot of rest,” explains the zoo.
A lion cub died unexpectedly after birth in Cologne Zoo
Originally, lion mom Gina gave birth to four cubs.
Sadly one of the babies passed away on January 31st.
The reason for this was probably a tragic accident: "Probably because mother 'Gina' accidentally crushed it with her weight," explains the Cologne Zoo.
