with its medieval castle, its historic center with narrow streets and its famous Monrepo park, is only about thirty kilometers from the border, but it has been closed since the mid-November.
A decision taken by Finland after the influx last year of several hundred nationals from the Middle East, with Helsinki accusing Moscow of orchestrating a migration crisis at its gates.
Briefly reopened in mid-December, the border, 1,340 kilometers long, with its eight crossing points, was then completely closed, theoretically until February 11.
Finland has, however, decided
