The stored water can also be used to wash your car and even for domestic use if individuals have a larger underground storage tank. The price of the product, made in France, depends on the model of the greenhouse and its length. It costs between 152 and 459 euros for a three-meter-long shelter or 459 euro for a twelve-meter long structure.

Located in the North, the company “Les Serres Tonneau” has invented a rainwater recovery kit to install directly and easily.

Collecting rainwater that falls from your roof is a very common practice.

But did you know that there is another easy and effective way to do this using your garden greenhouse?

Since 2015, the company “Les Serres Tonneau” has been selling a kit which allows you to install a rainwater collector directly on your shelter.

A patented product, as explained by Alexis Tonneau, director of the family company created in 1872 and based in Linselles (North).

Very easy to install

Installing the kit is very simple.

Concretely, it includes a tarpaulin which is superimposed on the one already in place on the greenhouse and PVC and aluminum rails adapted to the size of the shelter.

“All you have to do is wedge the tarpaulin into the rails, creating a slight slope so that the water is automatically guided into a gutter, which must be fixed on the rails,” continues the thirty-year-old.

However, the gutter is not provided by the company, nor is

the water tank

to be installed near the greenhouse.

To collect rainwater, the kit works on the same principle as a house roof.

Thanks to it, individuals can collect all the water that runs off from the top of their greenhouse very easily.

It then accumulates in the gutter and is stored in the tank until used.

“So precious” water

With its invention, “Les Serres Tonneau” wants to offer a solution to optimize the large surface area of a garden greenhouse and above all

limit the waste

of drinking water.

Because collected rainwater can be used in many ways.

“The majority of customers use it to water their plants,” says Alexis Tonneau.

Not only do they save considerable money, but they also water their vegetable garden in a practical and environmentally friendly way.

It does not require

any special maintenance

.

“The tarpaulin offers additional protection and the rails ensure a solid and easy installation,” recommends Alexis Tonneau.

The price of the product, made in France, depends on the model of the greenhouse and its length.

It costs 152 euros for a three-meter-long shelter or 459 euros for a twelve-meter-long structure.

On its website, the company, which has 14 employees, mainly offers greenhouses and tarpaulins but also numerous accessories such as shade nets, watering and irrigation systems and even heaters.
