A new chance to acquire the precious ticket presented itself this Thursday: at 10 a.m., the ticket office for the Paris Olympic Games offered places.
Announced on Monday, this sales phase is the first in a series of “surprise” openings, the date of which is communicated a few days in advance.
These aim to sell the remaining two million tickets.
Tickets for all sports were available for sale this Thursday.
Prices varied from 24 euros for the most affordable, to 2700 for the opening ceremony.
But the cheapest tickets sold out very quickly, especially for the most popular sports.
From 10:08 a.m., you had to pay a minimum of 80 euros to attend an athletics session.
Similar observation for judo, for which you had to pay at least 100 euros in order to buy a place after a few minutes.
Although places were limited in number, in total more than 600 different sessions were offered.
But the number of tickets was tiny for major sports.
Tickets for people with reduced mobility were also available.
Places trickle down
However, several malfunctions were noticed during this sales phase.
Once through the queue, only a handful of sports appeared on the ticket counter.
Initially, 211 sessions were available, for athletics, golf, weightlifting, shooting, rugby sevens, water polo, boxing and rowing.
Then other disciplines appeared little by little.
“Sports appear then disappear,” says Amélie, who logged in this morning to get tickets.
But I was still able to buy tickets for judo, and also for the preliminary round of handball.

It remains to be seen whether this was a technical problem or a strategy to avoid harming the latest arrivals.
Display issues still remained on the site, since certain sessions appeared but it was not possible to add them to your basket.
By 10:45 a.m., all tickets for attractive sports, such as breaking, climbing or 3x3 basketball, had been purchased.
“When you connect to the site, you see the sports displayed,” continues Amélie.
But it is not possible to put them in your basket!
I had already tried to buy tickets during the last sales and it was already like that.
I think too many people are logging in at the same time.

Sports whose events are contested in the provinces are permanently available for sale.
This is for example the case of football or handball.
The same goes for places in the Paralympic Games.
However, as has been the case since the opening of the ticket office, it is not possible to purchase more than 30 tickets with the same account.
