The former tennis district on Schmiedstrasse in Germering is becoming increasingly dilapidated.

What happens next is unclear.

A development is planned.

Germering – The Hamburg housing company Revitalis, owner of the former tennis district on Schmiedstrasse, filed for bankruptcy at the end of last year.

However, the insolvency administrator dispels the city's fears that the development presented a year and a half ago has died.

Meanwhile, the area deteriorates more and more.

The large windows of the former FTG tennis hall are smashed.

Garbage accumulates inside.

Graffiti and graffiti can be found throughout the entire area, including the former TC Unitas tennis courts.

The conditions are increasingly reminiscent of those at the former Morigl car dealership on Landsberger Straße.

The former tennis hall is becoming more and more dilapidated - contact with the housing association is difficult

When asked about the conditions, city architect Jürgen Thum said that he had not heard anything about it.

The city is currently seeking contact with Revitalis because the development plan process needs to continue.

The company will then be approached about these problems, says Thum.

However, contact became difficult because Revitalis filed for bankruptcy in October.

Thum: “We don’t know what will happen next.”

The responsible Hamburg insolvency administrator Sven-Holger Undritz dispels the city's fears that the owner will not continue the project with 210 apartments, social facilities and non-disruptive commercial units.

The owner is now the Revitalis Thirteenth Real Estate Company.

This is not insolvent.

However, the development plan process is on hold due to the ongoing renovation phase of Revitalis Real Estate.

Undritz: “Revitalis and the administration are in discussions with the financiers and the municipality of Germering in order to bring about an early solution and thus also the continuation of the development plan process.”

Morigl area: delay due to high construction prices

According to Jürgen Thum, the development of the Morigl area will also be delayed.

The owner now has building rights.

But in conversation with him he said that he would not build before 2025.

Reason: the currently high construction prices.

At least entering the ruins has now become more difficult.

The owner has had the entire area re-fenced.
