The Opel of the 22-year-old driver from the Erding district ended up in the ditch.
She had to be freed from her vehicle using the rescue spreader.

A driver from the Erding district had to be flown to hospital with the rescue helicopter on Wednesday afternoon after a serious traffic accident on the B299 federal highway near Vilsbiburg.

- As the Vilsbiburg police report, the 22-year-old was driving her Opel on Maybachstrasse around 3:25 p.m. and wanted to enter the B299 when she overlooked the VW Transporter of a 51-year-old from Kehlheim.
The two vehicles collided head-on.
The Opel landed in the ditch, the left side of the vehicle crushed.
The young woman was trapped in her vehicle and had to be freed using a rescue spreader by members of the Vilsbiburg fire department.
After emergency medical treatment on site, she was flown to the Deggendorf Clinic with serious injuries in the Christoph 15 rescue helicopter.
According to Andreas Gassner from PI Vilsbiburg, the 22-year-old is now on the mend and her life is out of danger.
Both vehicles had to be towed away and caused total damage of around 16,000 euros.
The B299 was completely closed in both directions for a good 1.5 hours.
The Vilsbiburg and Geisenhausen fire departments were on site.
