Actor Philippe Caubère has been indicted for
“rape and sexual assault on a minor
,” AFP learned from reliable sources.
Three young girls - minors at the time of the alleged facts - filed a complaint against the actor, aged 73.
The latter was placed in police custody on Tuesday by an investigating judge at the Créteil judicial court.
On January 9, the director expressed regret for having begun in 2012, at the age of 61, an intimate relationship for four months with a minor aged 16, in a press release sent to AFP.
On January 12, three performance halls in Gard announced in a joint press release that they were canceling the actor's performances.
“Given the information published in the press this Monday January 8 concerning an investigation targeting the actor Philippe Caubère, the management of the three structures jointly announce the suspension of performances”
explained the three theaters: the Albarède in Ganges, La Maison de l’Eau in Allègre-les-Fumades and Le Cratère in Alès in a press release.
