A change is imminent at Juze Schongau: manager Christine Annibalini has resigned.

But she is not out of the world.

And the succession has also been arranged, an old acquaintance is taking over the reins: Basti Kosler.

The educator also studies social pedagogy while working.

Schongau - As soon as the counter team was inaugurated in the rooms in Köhlerstadel, the news spread like wildfire among the visitors to the Schongau youth center: Christina Annibalini, head of the Schongau facility for three years, has handed in her resignation and is leaving the house on April 1st .

“The long working hours got to me,” says the social worker.

The 45-year-old explains in an interview with the Schongauer Nachrichten that she is at an age where she no longer wants to carry out her leisure activities at night.

Not too old for juze

“Please don’t say you’re too old for juze,” Basti Kosler interrupts her with a laugh.

Because Annibalini now wishes to reduce a few hours after working full-time for many years, she will no doubt finish work early one or two times in the future and be able to visit her former protégés at Juze.

But there is more to it: “I got a really great job offer.” She will take up a so-called JaS position at Brücke Oberland, youth social work at schools, and will certainly meet one or two of her previous Juze visitors.

Because her new area of work is in Schongau at the vocational school.

Annibalini also wants to work a few hours in outpatient family support in educational counseling.

Away from open youth work

“That’s the second reason: I really enjoyed the open youth work, but I simply prefer the individual work in consultations,” says the social worker.

The fact that the team is closer than usual may be the key to the success of the Schongau youth center.

During Corona, alternative ways to maintain contacts were sought; the figures for 2023 show record attendance (we reported).

“The relationships have become more intense in the house, which leaves a cool stamp,” Kosler is certain.

The fact that you can continue to run into the head of Juze in Schongau in the future cushioned the shock of the termination somewhat.

But among the reactions there was also anger, concern and fear along the lines of “You are our second home, is there going to be someone we can trust?”

The city council has already approved the change in Juze management

That is certainly the case with Basti Kosler, who has been closely linked to Juze Schongau for five years.

The city council has already approved.

The transition to April 1st is smooth except for a few days.

“It was important to me that Basti got this position,” said Annibalini.

“It's a cool time for me now - there's a new part coming that I'm very excited about - I'm getting more and more excited,” says the 25-year-old.

Kosler is full of energy, standing still is a foreign word for him.

Just on that day, as part of the municipal youth work in the district, they looked at the four youth centers in Bad Tölz, where the work is completely different and the financing structure is completely different.

“That really caught me, there’s more in it for Schongau too, we can give a little more gas for the young people here.”

Educator also works in addiction prevention

In addition, the educator is committed to addiction prevention in schools, an offer that he offers as a freelancer and for which he may not have as much time in the coming years: because now he is tackling it, studying social pedagogy , part-time.

This is also supported by the city of Schongau.

“It’s not a must, but it makes a lot of sense,” as he says.

“Basti is the house, he fills it and lives open child and youth work - it would be a waste if he didn't do that now,” the Juze leader is sure that this is now the right path for her colleague.

Basti Kosler's position has already been advertised and the city is looking for a successor.

The advertisement is neutral, but the Juze team would very much like the choice to fall on a woman.

The proportion of girls among the visitors is high.

“And in fact there are many topics that young women should discuss with women,” says Kosler.

The BP position of Fabian Kammerer, who is in the recognition year as an educator, should also be filled again.

“There will still be a few tears shed.”

Christina Annibalini probably won't be allowed to leave without a hitch, maybe there will even be a small farewell party.

“There will be a few more tears,” she already knows.

But she could go with a clear conscience.

“It was a great time at Schongauer Juze, I learned a lot.

The house is in good shape, with Basti as the manager it is a one with a star.

I’m done here – it’s a nice feeling.”

Only recently, the Weilheim-Schongau district caused terrible news: the subsidies for all Juze manager positions were canceled, and the communities now have to pay the salaries themselves.

This could have fatal consequences.

After three years, the then Schongau Juze director Nicole Heller-Chmiel resigned and she also gave her reasons
