In the Corona year 2020, the city council issued an ordinance for the first time to ban alcohol consumption in the spa park.
Now the ban has been extended again.
Tegernsee – In the Tegernsee Valley, the municipalities have regulated the use of alcohol in public spa facilities.
The municipality of Rottach-Egern recently extended the ban on alcohol in the spa complex and at the town hall, which was enacted in 2019, for another four years.
Now the topic of alcohol bans in the area of the spa complex was also on the agenda of the Tegernsee city council.
In November 2020, the majority of the council members passed the alcohol ban and a corresponding ordinance for the first time.
The decision was based not only on vandalism and complaints about disturbing the peace, but also on the possible spread of Corona in the meeting place, which is particularly popular with families with children.
The regulation was extended again at the end of 2021 and 2022 - each by one year because they wanted to monitor current developments and react accordingly.
“The regulation is effective, complaints have decreased significantly,” reported Mayor Johannes Hagn (CSU) and advocated extending the ban for another two years.
The regulation is a tool for the police if difficulties arise, says Hagn.
Alcohol ban in the spa park: Only one city councilor is against it
Marcus Staudacher (Greens), who was against the ban from the start, once again spoke out against extending the regulation.
“To be honest, I’m more liberal, I’m against the ban and I don’t want to put anyone under general suspicion,” said Staudacher.
Ultimately, he was the only one at the council table to vote against extending the alcohol ban.
This applies until the end of 2025.
