As the flood intelligence service (HND) reported, rivers in Franconia and the Upper Palatinate were already flooding on the night of Thursday, February 8th.

According to information, the water levels of the northern tributaries of the upper Main and the northern tributaries of the Danube will continue to rise until Friday and into Saturday night.

Constant rain in Bavaria: The first rivers are flooding
It is possible that local water levels will reach levels 2 and 3 by the weekend.
In this case, flooding of agricultural and forestry areas, roads and even built-up areas and basements could occur.
This primarily affects the section of the Main between the Upper Franconian communities of Mainleus and Kemmern, the tributaries of the Franconian Saale and the river itself in Lower Franconia, as well as areas along the Regen in Upper Palatinate.
According to the weather forecast from the German Weather Service (DWD), the continuous rain north of the Danube is expected to continue until Thursday and Friday morning, but will ease over the course of the afternoon.
In the Alps and the foothills of the Alps, however, weather experts expect only occasional rain and some sunshine on both days with mild temperatures of up to 15 degrees.
While the DWD is forecasting isolated gusts for Thursday, the wind is expected to subside by Friday.
