For the second time this week, unknown people threw stones at an ICE train traveling between Freiburg and Offenburg, breaking windows.
Two windows in two different wagons were shattered in the attack on the ICE 106, but were not penetrated, the Offenburg Federal Police reported.
The windows were temporarily masked in Lahr (Ortenaukreis), and the train then continued towards Karlsruhe, a spokesman said.
Offenburg - Nobody was injured;
the amount of damage was initially unknown.
There had already been a similar incident on Tuesday, when two windows on the ICE 102 were also destroyed.
“Now a very similar incident has happened on the same route,” said the federal police spokesman on Thursday.
Officials have already driven to certain locations along the route to look for clues about the perpetrators.
The Offenburg Federal Police have now taken over the investigation into dangerous interference with rail traffic from the Karlsruhe Federal Police.
