With a length of 5.06 meters, identical to that of the sedan launched at the end of 2023, the new BMW 5 Series Touring becomes the largest station wagon in its category.
Compared to the model it replaces, this new vehicle lengthens by 97 mm, widens by 32 mm and rises by 17 mm, to 1.51 meters.
This slight increase arises from the need to adapt the platform to electric propulsion.
The new generation of the 5 Series is now available in a 100% electric version, including the station wagon.
Like the sedan, the Touring is available in two versions: i5 eDrive 40 equipped with a 340 hp electric machine installed on the rear axle and i5M60 of 601 hp with two motors, one per axle, and four-wheel drive.

In both cases, there is an 81.2 kWh battery which allows a range of 560 km with the i5 eDrive40 version and 506 km with the M model. With direct current on a fast terminal, the battery accepts a charging power of 205 kW allowing you to go from 10 to 80% in approximately 30 minutes.
BMW has also thought about large wheels and maintains a few combustion engine versions in its range.
Next summer, a 197 hp 520d with 48V mild hybridization will be launched which can accommodate all-wheel drive, two plug-in hybrid versions and a six-cylinder in-line diesel.
The trunk capacity ranges from 570 to 1,700 liters.

The Touring inherits the main technologies inaugurated by the sedan.
The i5 M60 thus has DirectDrive M suspension, the M Sport braking system and Adaptive Pro suspension with electronically controlled shock absorbers, as well as four-wheel steering.
The i5 and plug-in hybrid versions are also equipped with rear air suspension with automatic level control.
This allows you to maintain a flat plate, even when the trunk is loaded.
Its capacity varies from 570 to 1,700 liters with the rear seat folded.
The interior ambiance is identical to that of the sedan with a 12.3-inch digital information screen and the 14.9-inch multimedia tablet.
As with the sedan, the standard upholstery is entirely vegan.
This includes the seating surfaces, dashboard and door panels, as well as the steering wheel.

The new BMW 5 Series Touring is equipped as standard with Parking Assistant, including Reversing Assistant.
With the optional Park Assist Pro, automated parking and maneuvering over a distance of up to 200 meters can be controlled in the vehicle or using a smartphone outside the vehicle.
You can not stop progress.
Prices range from €66,600 for the 520d to €109,000 for the 601 hp electric model.
At the start of 2025, the 5 Series Touring range will be enriched with a plug-in hybrid M5 version.
