Le Figaro Bordeaux
It's a mysterious disappearance that may soon no longer be a mystery.
This Wednesday, the national police and the Gironde firefighters intervened in the Bassins à Flot district, in Bordeaux, after the alert of the discovery of a body.
The police tell Le
Figaro
that it was found between two ships, but that it has not yet been formally identified.
Autopsy in progress
It could be a young man who has been missing for almost a month.
On the night of January 12 to 13, Basile Affret, a 21-year-old student, disappeared after spending an evening at Iboat, a Bordeaux nightclub located in a boat moored along the water basins.
The young man apparently left the club around 4 a.m., perhaps under the influence of alcohol and drugs.
Calls for witnesses were launched, without success.
The Bordeaux public prosecutor's office ordered a medico-legal autopsy in order to determine the circumstances of the death and confirm the identity of the victim, specifying that
"a certain number of elements"
suggest that it could indeed be by Basile Affret.
The autopsy is underway, the police added.
