Since December it has only worked briefly: the barrier on Hörweg.

It was torn down, unscrewed and recently rebuilt.

Now the barrier on Hörweg in Aubing is broken again after just three weeks.

The barrier on Hörweg between Neuaubing and Freiham actually has a clear task: to prevent car traffic in the new Freiham development district so that Aubinger Allee does not become a new cross-connection between Limesstrasse and Bodenseestrasse.

The barrier only allows buses 57 and 143 to pass.

How much this bothers the people living or driving there can be seen in the 57 cases of property damage that have occurred since the barrier was erected (we reported).

There is now an electronic malfunction

Among other things, the barrier was broken off or simply unscrewed without further ado.

After being missing for months, it was reinstalled in mid-December 2023 - with modest success: it barely lasted three weeks this time, and now it's broken again.

According to the city, it was due to an electronic malfunction.

City wants to stick to the traffic ban

Because of the breakdown barrier, a working group has already been formed consisting of members of the Aubing-Lochhausen-Langwied District Committee (BA), the police, the Society for Urban Renewal (MGS), the local schools and the city departments.

“It was decided that the ban on passage for private traffic should be maintained,” says the construction department.

In several applications in recent years, the BA has tried to convince the city to use retractable bollards.

According to the mobility department, they are too susceptible to damage.

“The working group will continue to monitor the situation and decide on possible measures if necessary,” said the construction department.

In Aubing people ask themselves: How many times does the barrier have to break before a better solution is found?
