The short but worthwhile hike to Prinzenruh on Lake Tegernsee offers a picturesque view of the lake and the surrounding mountains over a six-kilometer route.

A short but promising hike awaits you to Prinzenruh above Bad Wiessee on Tegernsee.
Covering a distance of approximately six kilometers and a moderate climb of just 150 meters, this excursion offers scenic views of Lake Tegernsee and the surrounding mountain landscape, including Neureuth, Baumgartenschneid and Wallberg.

The circular route starts at Lindenplatz in Bad Wiessee and initially leads along in a southerly direction before crossing the Zeiselbach.
From there you head upstream, with the path clearly signposted and no chance of getting lost.
After crossing the Zeiselbach twice, the path leads right up to Prinzenruh, where you can take a break on benches and in a shelter and enjoy the breathtaking view.

Great views and warm hospitality
After you have thoroughly admired the Prinzenruh, continue your hike and reach the Gasthaus Freihaus Brenner, where you can fortify yourself with a well-deserved stop.
The path then leads through the forest down to the Breitenbach, along whose idyllic banks you hike back to the starting point.
Lake Tegernsee is one of the best excursion destinations in Bavaria.
For an environmentally friendly journey, we recommend using the BRB to Gmund am Tegernsee, from where you can take bus 359 to Lindenplatz.
