The rumor has spread like wildfire in recent days in the north-east of Seine-Saint-Denis: tap water is unfit for consumption, proof of which is the brownish trickle that flows from it.

“Fake news”, responds the town hall of Tremblay-en-France, which relayed this Wednesday the press release from the joint drinking water supply union of Tremblay-en-France and Claye-Souilly (Smaep-TC).

“The controversies conveyed on social networks have no basis and no meaning,” confirms the latter, which brings together a dozen municipalities from Seine-Saint-Denis, Seine-et-Marne and Val-d’Oise.

It all started, according to Smaep-TC, from a “big leak” in Villeparisis (Seine-et-Marne) on the main pipeline which transports water from the Annet-sur-Marne factory.

This was repaired on February 2, 3 and 4 by renewing two meters of line with a diameter of 900 millimeters.
