The budget situation in Neuried is tense.

The municipality cannot finance everything that the local council approves.

TSV and the fire department are now working hard to make wishes come true.

Neuried

– The construction and environmental committee of the municipality of Neuried received the big wish list for the current year in January.

At the time, it also included projects from the gymnastics and sports club and the volunteer fire department.

But the local councilors could not bring themselves to include this in the budget planning.

“There were still things to clarify,” says treasurer Robert Beckerbauer.

These were clarified last Tuesday.

During their meeting, the members of the construction and environmental committee spoke out in favor of making 150,000 euros available to the fire department.

The TSV is left with nothing financially - but that doesn't mean that its plan can't still be implemented.

Money for modernizing the respiratory protection creepage distance

Commander Felix Lechner explained the fire brigade's needs to the council on Tuesday: The breathing apparatus crawling distance that the fire brigade's breathing apparatus wearers have to crawl through once a year needs to be overhauled.

“The surveillance technology is so outdated that it needs to be replaced; it no longer meets any standards,” he says.

And: “The test track is essential to keep the respiratory protection wearers in use.”

Because it is difficult to explain a respiratory protection creepage distance if you don't have it in front of you, Lechner had asked the fire department to make an on-site visit at short notice before the meeting.

Around half of the members of the building and environmental committee as well as treasurer Robert Beckerbauer and mayor Harald Zipfel followed Lechner's request.

The committee members then voted in favor of including the necessary funds of 150,000 euros in the budget to upgrade the facility.

If the local council follows this recommendation, there will be two such systems in the Würmtal in the future.

The Starnberg district building was inaugurated in Krailling just a few weeks ago.

Lechner is already grateful, but he knows how strained the municipality's budget situation is.

Therefore: “I will be happy when it is finally approved by the local council.”

Managing director Oliver Beer spoke for TSV Neuried on Tuesday.

The club would like a multicourt, a small fenced football field with artificial turf.

Beer was able to convince the council that further training opportunities would be used.

And he reported on particularly good funding opportunities at the moment, for example through UEFA.

So the councilors agreed that the new space “should, if possible, not cost the community anything,” said Beckerbauer.

It is up to the club to submit funding applications and find sponsors.

In contrast to the fire department, the TSV has to work harder to get its wish fulfilled.
