The work is done (from left): The board of SV Unterbrunn, elected in September 2021 and consisting, among others, of Roland Schleifer (technology), Ivanka Ljubas (caretaker), Florian Schleifer (1st board) and Thomas Ruhbaum (treasurer) have identified the fire protection deficiencies removed from the multi-purpose hall.

The Unterbrunn multi-purpose hall was closed to events for two and a half years due to fire protection deficiencies.

Now the deficiencies have been corrected.

Unterbrunn

- Who doesn't remember with horror the corona pandemic, which practically brought social life to a standstill?

Unterbrunn was hit particularly badly.

Due to fire protection deficiencies in the multi-purpose hall, no events were allowed to take place there even when the authorities generally allowed this again.

“It closed in mid-2021,” says Florian Schleifer, board member of SV Unterbrunn, which has around 400 members.

The club was still lucky: “Sport was possible,” says Schleifer.

This means that table tennis, volleyball, dancing and gymnastics could continue.

What wasn't possible were events such as theater, performances by the men's choir or the sweepstakes during carnival.

But SV Unterbrunn didn't want to accept that.

“The new board has made it its mission to eliminate these deficiencies as quickly as possible,” said Schleifer.

The team consisted of Florian Schleifer (1st board), Thorsten Otto (2nd board), Roland Schleifer (technology), Ivanka Ljubas (caretaker), Thomas Ruhbaum (treasurer), Helga Zifreund (member administration) and Stefanie Kaindl (secretary) and was elected to office in September 2021.

The municipality of Gauting and SV Unterbrunn worked hand in hand to eliminate the deficiencies.

“In the 2022 budget, the municipality of Gauting provided a budget for the first time, and these funds were increased in the coming years after it became clear what needed to be done,” said the board.

In addition to the installation of fire doors and a new house alarm system, the most important measure was the construction of a new escape route from the hall directly to the outside.

All construction work was completed in January 2024 and acceptance by experts was successful.

“This would not have been possible without the financial support of the community, for which all club members are very grateful,” said Schleifer.

The club's own work was well over 500 hours.

More was hardly possible, especially because the authorities insist on specialist companies when it comes to fire protection.

“The whole thing was a huge undertaking,” said Schleifer.

But now everything is in order again: Starting next weekend, the multi-purpose hall will be available again for events that took place in the years before the pandemic.

The children's carnival begins next Sunday, February 11th.

It takes place between 2 p.m. and 6 p.m. with DJ Tommy and Christine and Kathrin.

The newly founded Unterbrunner dance group will help organize the afternoon.

On Shrove Tuesday, February 13th, the Unterbrunn fraternity will once again be hosting the famous carnival procession starting at 2 p.m. from the Gasthof Böck.

In the evening there will be a sweepstakes with the band “Roy” from 7 p.m., including a symbolic burial of the “Prince Carnival” at midnight.

Things continue seamlessly in March: the men's choir invites you to the popular farmers' theater, and the three-act play “The Garden Gnome Murder” by Gudrun Ebner will be played.

The piece will be performed on Friday 1st, Saturday 2nd, Friday 8th, Saturday 9th, Sunday 10th, and Thursday 15th, Friday 16th and Saturday 17th March.

Places can be reserved daily from Ash Wednesday from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. by calling (089) 8 50 32 08.

Performances start at 8 p.m., Sundays at 7 p.m.

Admission with catering is one and a half hours in advance.

On March 23, 2024 there will be another strong beer festival after a long break.

The Seefeld brass band will play, and some performances are planned.

Starts at 7:30 p.m.

A dance into May by the Unterbrunn fraternity is also planned for April 30th, again in the multi-purpose hall.

Starts at 8 p.m.

“All of these events together form the inauguration of the multi-purpose hall,” said Schleifer.
