Sheryl Sandberg, Mark Zuckerberg's former right-hand man at Facebook, is filming a documentary on the sexual violence committed during the October 7 attack in Israel.
Sandberg interviewed some of the survivors and witnesses, using her international fame to not draw attention to the horrors of October 7th.
The sexual assaults perpetrated that day pushed Sandberg back into the spotlight after years spent in the background.
In an interview with the Wall Street Journal he does not talk about the role social media played in spreading false information about October 7 but explains how in the difficult nature of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict many have not condemned Hamas for using sexual violence as an instrument of war.
“It doesn't matter what you think about the tragedy of lives lost in Gaza, it doesn't matter what you believe but we must believe that rape is wrong,” Sandberg said.
In Israel for the filming, Zuckerberg's former right-hand man explains that the testimonies collected changed her.
"This is the most important work of my life. Everything I have learned so far has led me to this moment," he says.
