Prosecuted in a case of false invoices, the former MP and Secretary of State Thierry Mandon (PS) will be tried on June 20 before the Saint-Étienne court, announced the public prosecutor, David Charmatz.

He was fired for acts allegedly committed when he was director of the Cité du design in Saint-Étienne.

The former Secretary of State in charge of education in the government of François Hollande is suspected of forgery and use of forged documents, misuse of corporate assets, attempts to misappropriate public assets by a person entrusted with a function public and scams.

The investigation by the Lyon judicial police made it possible to substantiate the report issued by the president of the Cité du design, Marc Chassaubéné, also deputy for culture of Saint-Étienne and its metropolis, under article 40 of the Code of Criminal Procedure.

In November 2022, he sent a 140-page document a few days after the resignation of Thierry Mandon.

”.

The prosecution confirms today that the ex-MP is suspected of

“various offenses revealed during the examination of the 2021 accounts of SASU Cité Services”

, a private company whose only shareholder is the Cité du design, and that Thierry Mandon chaired.

Police custody last June

The person concerned assured that there was no link between his resignation and the facts with which he is accused.

The former socialist deputy then pleaded negligence.
