The house, purchased by a couple of parents with two children, is located in one of the quiet neighborhoods in Herzliya and except for the shell of the building, which was re-roofed, as part of the renovation the interior design was completely changed: "The mother of the family, a woman of many skills and abilities, is an artist who works in painting and is also a good cook, so two of the prominent requirements in the program were To plan for her a studio where she can create and a practical and spacious kitchen that will meet her needs as a cook. At the same time, it was important to the couple to create a pleasant and inclusive garden that would be used for entertaining and at the same time as a play and recreation area for the children," according to architect Yaron Eldad Shamon, who is responsible for the planning and design of the impressive house.

"The internal division has changed completely and now, in the new design, all the common functions are concentrated on the entrance floor: the living room, the dining area and the kitchen; on the first floor, the parents' master bedroom, the children's rooms and an intimate family corner were planned; on the upper floor, the mother of the family's studio and a guest room were planned, and on the basement floor on the lower level, a room was planned A home cinema and a children's play area from which there is an exit to an English courtyard."

Like many of the projects on which Amon Eldad, this house was designed with a precise, reasoned and clean line: "We chose to work with a palette of materials and colors as minimalist as possible so that each element, in each of the spaces, is interpreted as powerful in its own way and in exactly the right doses," he explains.

"The most present material is the resin - a durable and flexible material with which we chose to cover the ceiling, walls and floor. Its installation is done without seams and connections and as such it produces a clean and continuous appearance that gives the space a harmonious and pleasant look. The shade of the resin we worked with is sandy - warm on the one hand and neutral on the other and as such it is It forms a successful background for the selection of materials and the scenic shades that we integrated into the spaces."

Opening the front door reveals an intimate foyer defined on one side by a wardrobe and on the other by a blackened brass partition that serves as an airy library that allows a glimpse of what is happening in the public space.

"The living room is located on one side of the foyer, while the kitchen and dining area were designed on the other side. The two staircases are located right in front of it," explains the architect.

"The gram that leads to the basement floor is a gram built with a wooden canopy and the gram that leads to the upper levels is made of floating iron rails anchored to the wall. Between the two are located the guest toilets."

The living room of the house is surrounded by showcases overlooking the garden so that the connection between the outside and the front is almost unmediated.

Eldad designed in this area a biophilic wall rich in vegetation that climbs all the way from the English courtyard on the lower level to the wall on the entrance floor on which the sofa is placed.

"We chose colors and minimalist items, for example the seating arrangement that consists of a R sofa and two armchairs - one modern and the other iconic, which was designed by Ray and Charles Eames. In the center we combined a coffee table with thin iron legs and a wooden surface painted in a light epoxy color. Opposite the seating area, a unit was planned An iron fireplace above it stands the TV screen and next to it stands a lamp in a modern style."

As mentioned, the kitchen serves as one of the most bustling and active areas in the house: "We created for the owner of the house, who loves cooking, a tall unit made of light wood that includes lots of storage space and designated places for the electrical appliances and the wine refrigerator. In addition, we designed two islands that are parallel to each other: one is made of wood and serves as an eating counter and the other, which is made of stainless steel, It is emphasized by a hood and lighting installed above it and integrates well against the background of the resin in the shell."

The guest toilets were designed as a dramatic space based on the purity of the shades of black: "The ceiling is dark and so is the natural stone with which we covered the wall which forms the background for the free standing sink and the illuminated mirror above," says the architect.

The entrance floor is surrounded by the garden.

In the front facade stand two tall palm trees that were planted decades ago.

A carefully maintained garden awaits the members of the family and their guests, including a lawn, a thin surface, a jacuzzi covered with wooden bars, a fully equipped outdoor kitchen, a living room seating area and an outdoor dining area.

"We created for them a space abundant with vegetation and trees, and apart from the two palm trees, there is also an ancient olive tree," adds Eldad.

When you go up the staircase, you will see the floor of the rooms, at the entrance of which a family corner and a television were planned, with an iron library.

The resin flooring is replaced on this floor by a parquet floor that adds warmth while the entrance doors to the rooms are lined with resin.

The master master includes a sleeping area, walk-in closet, bathroom and vanity area and the couple enjoy their own private balcony facing the front facade.

For the closets, Eldad chose to design floor-to-ceiling transparent facades, which can be turned milky and sealed at the push of a button, with one of them also serving as the entrance door to the bathroom.

This space is covered with black natural stone and includes an oval free standing bathtub, a spacious shower and a bath cabinet with sinks for him and her.

From the living room you go up to the mother of the family's studio floor, which enjoys a sloped ceiling under the tile roof of the house: "We exposed the wooden beams, created skylight openings and chose a light color that greatly contributes to the open and airy look. In the additional guest room on the floor, we designed a free standing bathtub which we placed under the skylight opening." The architect concludes.
