Airport – The Verdi union has completed its almost 27-hour warning strike among Lufthansa ground staff.

This was confirmed by a union spokeswoman on Thursday morning, February 9th.

Extensive flight disruptions due to strike: 7,000 people stopped work

The strike, which began on Wednesday morning, continued to cause some flight disruptions on Thursday.

After up to 900 flights were canceled the day before, the airline had to cancel around 30 departures from its main locations in Frankfurt and Munich on Thursday morning.

Operations should be back to normal by Friday at the latest.

Around 7,000 people took part in the warning strikes in Frankfurt, Munich, Hamburg, Düsseldorf and Berlin, according to Marvin Reschinsky, Verdi's negotiator.

He warned Lufthansa of longer strikes if the current offer is not improved.

The company had criticized the early escalation of the dispute.
