Viamedis and Almerys, two operators who manage third-party payment for complementary health insurance, were recently hacked.
The CNIL indicates that “33 million people” are affected by this “large-scale violation”.
“The attack is massive, the leak is colossal,” laments Pascal Le Digol, cybersecurity expert at WatchGuard Technologies.
The rest after this ad
The data that leaked is, for policyholders and their families, marital status, date of birth, social security number, name of health insurer and the guarantees of the contract taken out.
Banking information, medical data, postal and email addresses, and telephone numbers, however, would not be affected.
However, this violation is not without consequences.
