Microsoft is working with the Semafor platform to use ChatGpt in news creation.

The Financial Times reports this, recalling the New York Times lawsuit against the Redmond giant and its partner, OpenAI, parent company of ChatGpt, for copyright infringement.

Semafor, co-founded by the former editor-in-chief of the Buzzfeed site Ben Smith, is a platform that brings together newsletters on different vertical topics written by a specialized journalist.

The intent of the newspaper is to create the first post-social media.

Together with Microsoft, Semafor will create a news feed called 'Signals' that will be sponsored by the tech giant for an undisclosed but "substantial" sum, the business publication says.

It will highlight the latest news and analysis, offering a dozen posts per day.

All stories will be written entirely by journalists, with the AI actually acting as a research tool.

Specifically, the Semafor team will use AI tools to quickly find reports of important events from sources around the world in multiple languages, while providing translation tools.

An article might then include Chinese, Indian or other sources, with journalists adding context and summarizing the different points of view.

Microsoft, in recent days, also announced collaborations with the Craig Newmark School of Journalism, the GroundTruth Project, the Online News Association and other journalism organizations.

The partnerships come at a time of growing publishing concerns about generative artificial intelligence.
