Last year there was a need to make savings in intercultural encounters and educational projects.
Now there is good news from the integration officer.
Erfurt - Significantly more money will be available to promote intercultural encounters and educational projects in 2024 than in the previous year.
The office of integration officer Mirjam Kruppa announced on Wednesday that a total of 180,000 euros were earmarked for this in the budget.
There were savings requirements in 2023, which is why no more applications could be approved in the second half of the year.
A total of 25 projects were funded with almost 92,000 euros.
Up to 6,000 euros would be available per project this year.
This selective and low-threshold support is valuable, explained Kruppa.
“Integration happens on a small scale, in everyday life and, above all, in personal interaction.” A particular focus is on promoting initiatives offered by migrants.
“It is very important to me to strengthen the participation and creative opportunities of immigrant groups.” dpa
