There are regular traffic jams around Munich, as figures from the ADAC now prove.

There were more traffic jams in 2023 than the year before - for a reason.

Munich - There were more traffic jams on Bavarian roads in 2023 than in the previous year.

The main reason for this was the severe onset of winter at the beginning of December, the ADAC Südbayern announced on Tuesday (February 6th).

The traffic experts predict a further increase in traffic and associated more traffic jams in 2024, especially due to numerous construction sites.

ADAC: More traffic jams on Bavarian roads

In the entire year of 2023, the ADAC Südbayern recorded a total of 65,303 hours of traffic jams, which corresponds to an increase of 18 percent compared to 2022.

The winter weather caused more traffic disruptions than summer travel.

December 2nd was the day with the most traffic jams, with a traffic jam length of 5,757 kilometers and 517 hours of traffic jams.
