Gmund - CDU General Secretary Carsten Linnemann was the guest of honor of the CSU Miesbach district association at Gut Kaltenbrunn this year.

500 visitors came, including some farmers.

Recently around 500 visitors came to the CSU New Year's reception at Gut Kaltenbrunn.

Even before 10 a.m., many farmers with their tractors gathered in front of the turnoff to the estate to start the announced demo around Lake Tegernsee from there.

A delegation of farmers wanted to see for themselves what was said in the banquet hall.

CSU district chairman Alexander Radwan, along with numerous club representatives and aid organizations, welcomed Carsten Linnemann, CDU general secretary, who was born in Paderborn but appeared in true Bavarian outfit, as guest of honor for the first time.

Linnemann was not the first keynote speaker from the ranks of the CDU, who wanted to make themselves popular at Tegernsee.

In 2019, the then Health Minister Jens Spahn was a guest in Gmund.

Now Radwan had won over his 46-year-old Bundestag colleague Linnemann.

Kudos to farmers

To the sounds of Fischbachau music, Radwan welcomed the guests, including ex-district administrator Wolfgang Gröbl, as well as ex-chancellor advisor Horst Teltschick from Rottach-Egern, who led the Munich Security Conference for many years.

The President of the State Parliament, Ilse Aigner, who was present, received great praise for her courageous speech in the Bavarian State Parliament, in which she found clear words about the AfD.

The visitors applauded Radwan's gratitude to the emergency services present, such as the fire brigade, Red Cross and mountain rescue service.

The fact that volunteers, who are an integral part of everyday life, have recently had to endure abuse from right-wing radicals is absolutely unacceptable.

“Even our district administrator, who works with numerous helpers to look after the new refugees arriving every month, is insulted by right-wing people as Judas and a traitor, which is unacceptable,” Radwan raged and demanded: “Democracy means enduring the plurality of opinions “.

But the boundaries must also be clearly shown.

Guest of honor Linnemann congratulated on the almost paradisiacal environment at Tegernsee, but also praised the CSU politicians who – in contrast to many members of the Bundestag – “all have completed professional training”.

In his speech, Linnemann acknowledged: “Here in Bavaria, plain language is spoken.

They still know main sentences and have a high level of social skills.”

Praise for farmers and criticism of the government

The farmers present were also able to hear plain language: “Agriculture in Germany produces the highest quality goods in the world and ensures the continued existence of rural areas.”

His words about the current federal government were also unmistakable: “The traffic lights do what the majority of people don’t want, which is why the frustration in the country is huge.” If the Union takes over the helm in Berlin as soon as possible, “they will “We have to carry the heaviest backpack of responsibility that ever existed after the Second World War.”

However, it is a matter of honor and a sign of trust that you have to tell the people in the country clearly what you will specifically do and which decisions you will reverse.

The Secretary General called for a change in mentality; effort and performance should be worth it again.

He received huge applause from the visitors for the sentence: “No one in this country is forced to work, but then they cannot expect to be financed by others.”

Donations go to the supporting association Arta Terme

European MP Angelika Niebler then took the podium to pay tribute to the sponsoring association Arta Terme.

This year he will receive the donations that were collected at the New Year's reception.

The former district administrator and state secretary Wolfgang Gröbl founded this institution almost 40 years ago, which maintains a European meeting place with the Villa Belvedere in the Italian province of Friuli. “It is a wonderful place where you can experience Europe,” announced Niebler.

Chairman Gerhard Schaffer and Vice Chairman Monsignor Walter Waldschütz thanked them for the honor: “This spurs us on.”
