The Tokyo 2021 Olympic karate champion, in - 67 kg, has not lost his humor.
He has already won the gold medal.
But he will not be able to defend his title since his discipline was not selected for the Paris 2024 Games. Steven Da Costa joked about this situation on Thursday, after the revelation of the Olympic medals.
On X (formerly Twitter), the Frenchman cited a tweet from Tony Estanguet.
In his publication, the president of the Organizing Committee of the Games revealed a photo of the medals.

To justify the absence of karate from the Paris 2024 program, Tony Estanguet justified himself by explaining that he favored sports “which are a hit on social networks”.
Steven Da Costa's reaction was terse, and he was very upset by this choice.
He also called on the sporting community to campaign for the return of karate.
Around sixty deputies had written an open letter to this effect, but Tony Estanguet's position never changed.
Karate was officially introduced during the Tokyo Games.
The discipline, which is also not expected to be included in the program for the Los Angeles Olympic Games in 2028, has suffered a rapid downgrade.
