After a ship accident in the Elbe in Hamburg, rescue workers searched in vain for a missing person for many hours.
Now a body has been found.
Hamburg - After a ship accident in Hamburg-Steinwerder, emergency services discovered a male body in the sunken boat.
The mooring boat, which collided with a push convoy on the Köhlbrand waterway near the Neuhof pier on Wednesday evening, was pulled out of the water on Thursday morning.
The identification in forensic medicine is still ongoing, said a police spokesman.
He was therefore initially unable to confirm that it was the missing crew member of the mooring boat.
Divers and emergency services in boats and a police helicopter searched for him in vain for hours on Wednesday evening.
According to the fire department, the search had been expanded from the Köhlbrand to the main Elbe river.
The emergency pastoral care was also on site.
