After his trial for sexual abuse, Thomas Pekny left the court a free man.
Now there has been a new trial against the ex-theatre director - surprise included.
Munich - Former theater director Thomas Pekny has been sentenced to a suspended sentence of eight months for accessing child and youth pornography content from the Internet.
In addition, the former head of the comedy at the Bayerischer Hof must pay 5,000 euros to the Munich Child Protection Association, the Munich district court decided on Thursday.
Pekny surprisingly did not appear at the trial.
His defenders justified this with health problems: “He is anything but well.”
Those involved in the process then withdrew for a legal discussion.
The judge then explained that due to the defendant's current personal situation, there were "doubts as to the feasibility of the main hearing for quite some time" and that the procedure would therefore be switched to a penalty order procedure.
Pekny is now considered to have a criminal record.
He had accessed child and youth pornography content on the Internet several times.
During a search of his home for other investigations, more than 100 files were found on his laptop.
