Pär Sundström can enjoy his
“ultimate revenge”
.
The Swede, 42, devoured a bear at the beginning of February during a family meal, and not just any bear: the one which inflicted an impressive wound on his face at the end of August 2023, during the first day of the hunt.
At his side, his son Evert, 15, can also enjoy the mammal that made him famous in the country, since he saved his father.
At the end of August, the two men were surprised by a bear in the forest near Ljusdal.
In a few seconds, the forty-year-old was bitten in the face and thrown to the ground, in front of his son.
The latter, then aged 14, had taken his courage in both hands, and
“hit the bear's head as hard as possible with (his) clenched hand”
thanks to his karate lessons, in comments reported by the Swedish newspaper
Aftonbladet

A struggle then began, the bear bit the teenager's arm until his father, his face disfigured, regained consciousness and fatally shot the animal.

Tacos, goulash, skewers
Rushed to hospital, Pär Sundström narrowly survived.
Six months later, the bite is still visible on his face and the scars will likely never go away.
He is
“fed up with people looking at him when he goes to the supermarket”
, but gets used to it before a new operation takes place.
He prefers to concentrate on the contents of his freezer.
During his recovery, his friends skinned the bear to get the meat.
The father and his son decided to eat it.
“We decided from the start that if we killed a bear, we would make tacos with its meat if it was edible,”

The meat was not only used for the Mexican dish, but also for goulash, skewers, köttbullar (recipe based on meatballs) at Christmas, bear bones and even meat sauce bear.
