Foreign Minister Antonio Tajani saidThursday he did not agree with one word uttered by Eric Zemmour, the controversial far-right French politician whose Reconqueteparty on Wednesday joined the European Conservatives andReformists (ECR) caucus led by Tajani's domestic ally andPremier Giorgia Meloni.
Asked if Zemmour's joining the ERC might cool relations with the centre-right European People's Party (EPP), of which Tajani's post Berlusconi Forza Italia (FI) is a part, the FM, who is also deputy prime minister, said "I don't share a word of what Zemmoursays".
As well as now Reconquete, the ECR includes Spain's Vox andPoland's Law and Justice Party.
The ECR was founded around the Movement for European Reform following the 2009 European elections at the best of then British Conservative Party leader David Cameron.
Currently it is the fifth-largest group in the European Parliament with 66 MEPs from 16 countries
