The suspect of killing Mauricio Grasso (40), a tourist from Moreno, with an accurate shot last Monday is now at the disposal of the Prosecutor's Office No. 1 of Mar del Plata.

This is a 33-year-old man, whose identity could be known by investigators due to his workplace, and will be investigated this Thursday by prosecutor María Florencia Salas.

The fact that he is accused of is the murder of Grasso through a shot he fired from his motorcycle, while his victim was in the back of a truck.

It was in the context of a four-block chase: the accused decided to pull towards the truck because a friend of Grasso said to him

"Well there, king"

, an attempt at flattery that was misunderstood due to the cuts and noises that the accused made with his motorcycle while I was waiting for a green traffic light, blocks before the scene of the murder.

The shot hit the back of Grasso's head, who died instantly

.

The investigation of the case was somewhat arduous during the following two days.

The friends who were in the truck with Grasso could not give many details about where the two motorcycles that chased them left, nor could eyewitnesses do so.

Together, the DDI Homicide Division of Mar del Plata and the intervening prosecutor, María Florencia Salas, decided to pay special attention to the public and private security cameras in the area to try to gather clues.

In dialogue with

Clarín

, prosecutor Salas detailed how they managed to find the person accused of killing Grasso.

“Together with the DDI, we began to cross-check footage from security cameras from the municipality and from the neighbors themselves, but not forward in time, but backwards: that way, we were able to know that the motorcycle on which the shooter was riding

left .

", a while before, from an ice cream parlor in the city center

."

It refers to

a famous ice cream parlor in Mar del Plata

, located on Colón Avenue, almost Entre Ríos, a few blocks from where the suspect met his victim.

For this reason, this Wednesday afternoon, the police went to the ice cream parlor to ask which of the workers has a motorcycle and clothing similar to those seen in the footage.

It was a colleague of the accused who specified his identity and that he usually went to work at six in the afternoon.

When he arrived at his work, he was detained.

“This Thursday it will be investigated.

At the moment, we are investigating two aspects: whether he already had a criminal record and

whether he is an expert shooter

, since he shot only once and accurately,” adds prosecutor Salas.

What other clue reinforces the last suspicion?

When the defendant's home was raided, this Thursday morning, four 9mm caliber bullets and a Bersa magazine of the same caliber were found, in addition to

the motorcycle he was driving at the time of shooting at the truck

in which Grasso was riding, a Benelli TNT. 135.

Police sources investigating the case have information that this man has a license issued by the National Agency for Controlled Materials (ANMAC) that allows him

to handle and transport weapons

like the one he used to kill.

The accused is detained in the warden of the Mar del Plata courts on Brown Street, waiting to be investigated.

The case against him is

homicide aggravated by the use of firearms

, with a sentence of between eight and 30 years, depending on what aggravating factors are considered at the time of the trial:

a possible aggravating factor is being a skilled marksman

.
