The President of Argentina and President Herzog visited Nir Oz: "The indifference of the 'free world' made this holocaust possible"
The President of Argentina, Javier Gerardo Millay, today (Thursday), together with the President of the country, Yitzhak Herzog, visited Kibbutz Nir Oz in the Gaza Strip - which was severely damaged in the brutal terrorist attack by the terrorist organization Hamas on October 7.
As part of the tour, the two presidents arrived at a point in the fence from where the terrorists entered the kibbutz, overlooking Khan Yunis.
Afterwards, the two also toured the remains and ruins of the kibbutz houses.
"As tragic and sad as it is that we are taking you to Kibbutz Nir Oz, to the place where, on the seventh of October, we saw the horrible, barbaric and sadistic massacre that Hamas and its partners carried out," began his words, President Yitzhak Herzog in a statement made by the two presidents, "a massacre that we have not seen for a long time in recent generations - Certainly since the Holocaust. Massacre of Jews just because they are Jews and Israelis, in a peace-loving community, a community that flourished in the wasteland and the desert."
According to him, "We are fighting a just defense war like no other, and therefore we have the full right to defend ourselves, we are working in every way to make sure that this does not happen again. I promise all the people of Israel, more mezuzahs will be planted, built and established, and we will return to blossom This area is also here in Nir Oz."

Herzog addressed the public in Israel: "What I also said yesterday in the presence of Secretary of State Anthony Blinken - the hell that the families of the abductees are going through is a terrible hell. "This is a very moving visit, which touches me and my soul deeply," said Argentine President Millay, "When we saw the pictures, we were filled with horror, but now to see things up close and personally in reality, it is an all the more disturbing and powerful experience. When we also listen to the stories of the families - Families that were literally cut in half, I think, among other things, of Ophelia who was kidnapped and I think of all the things she had to go through, and it hurts. Millay repeated what he said shortly after the attack: "We strongly condemn the actions of the terrorist organization Hamas, and we continue our solidarity - solidarity towards the people and the State of Israel, and continue our support for Israel's legitimate right to self-defense."

According to the president of Argentina, "once again we see that it was the indifference of the 'free world' that allowed the Nazi holocaust. And as President Herzog said, the free world cannot remain indifferent in the current case, because we see clear examples of terrorism and anti-Semitism, and what I would describe as Nazism of the 20th century -21. And when we hear about the torture methods used this time, it reminds us of the horrors of the Holocaust."
As part of the tour held by the presidents, they visited the home of Ophelia Rothman, who was rescued from Hamas captivity.
Ofelia is an Israeli and Argentinian citizen and since October 7, the day she was kidnapped, she has not returned to her home in Kibbutz Nir Oz.
Today was the first time she returned to the place from where she was kidnapped, alongside the President of the State of Israel and the President of Argentina.
Ophelia shared with the presidents during the time she was held captive, where she kept a diary, but the Hamas terrorists burned it.
The two also visited the home of the abducted Biebs family in Gaza, together with their two small sons, four-year-old Ariel and only one-year-old Kafir.
After that they visited the home of Oded and Yochaved Lifshitz.
As you may remember, Yochaved was released from Hamas captivity, but her husband is still being held there.
They also arrived at the house of Yair Horn, who was kidnapped together with his brother Eitan.
