Stefan Straßmair wants to prepare the community well for the future.

A lot is happening in the background in Hohenbrunn this year that will only be visible in the near future.
Hohenbrunn
– One change will definitely be clearly visible in Hohenbrunn this year: the maypole.
It will be put back up again.
Otherwise, according to Mayor Stefan Straßmair (CSU), it is mainly homework that is done in the community.
And even if it's not always visible to everyone, that's not exactly a small thing.
“We have a lot on our radar,” emphasizes the 52-year-old.
Expansion of the train station
For example, there is Deutsche Bahn, which has assured that it will tackle the barrier-free expansion of Hohenbrunner train station.
But as is often the case with the federal company, things don't always run very quickly.
Maybe the long-awaited movement will finally come here in 2025.
That remains the hope, because the expansion should be completed by the time the state secondary school below the waterworks is completed in 2027.
School and housing
The community will also be dealing with an important topic this year: the major school and housing project west of the railway.
There won't be a groundbreaking ceremony this year, says Straßmair.
But the community has cleared the way.
The father of two is not the only one who knows that the residential development will also create an increased need for childcare.
Great care is taken in the town hall not to lose sight of any additional needs.
Wind power
Straßmair, who has been in office since 2006, does not want to hide the fact that all of these tasks require a well-functioning administration.
He can say with a clear conscience: “We are well positioned for the future.” The climate protection manager has now been strengthened by a colleague in order to manage the important complex of energy and climate protection.
Straßmair doesn't want to give up on the subject of wind power, even if supra-regional plans do not primarily envisage Hohenbrunn as a wind power area (we reported).
Here, as with the development on Putzbrunner Straße - keyword supermarket - there remains hope that things will continue.
Other Projects
For wind power, a separate consortium is now about to be founded; for the supermarket, the municipality still has to adjust the development plan.
The planned roundabout at the entrance to the town also depends on the development, which also includes a medical center and residential buildings.
So we have to wait and see what happens next.
“A lot of what is planned will not be able to be seen this year,” says Straßmair.
What cannot be seen is the amount of work that is going on in this regard in the town hall.
And that goes hand in hand with numerous committee meetings.
Ultimately, many decisions are required.
That’s why the town hall boss sees 2024 as a “year of great preparations”.

What will be new this year will be a reception for new residents, which will take place expressly at the request of the clubs.
The clubs would like to use this opportunity to introduce themselves and advertise for membership.
The community's reception will be postponed until October 2024 because the community will also be represented at the State Garden Show in Kirchheim near Munich.
